Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Neighbourhood Victory Outreach Church. becoming a member of a local church is an important step in our faith journey as we move from attending to building. as a member you will be able to have an active say in the church, its vision, direction and will have an opportunity to vote on important matters pertaining to the church. we are looking forward to a one on one meeting with you.
 
 
 
 
 
MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT

At the Victory Outreach Church, in order to be an active voting member of our church, to help us build this together we have some expectations of you, as we push you to grow and mature and take the next steps in your faith journey, from just attending to helping us build something that blesses God and changes lives. As members, this journey includes a commitment to God, through the Victory Outreach Church, in each of the following areas:



  1. I will commit to live a life fully devoted to Christ, to the best of my ability by the strength and grace God gives me.

God's offer of salvation through Jesus Christ calls for a response of faith. That response is demonstrated throughout the New Testament by repentance, acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.


Repentance involves a change of heart and mind that causes us to want to make Jesus the absolute Leader of our lives. When we commit our lives to Christ, we put our faith in Him to receive forgiveness of sins, eternal life and the gift of the Holy Spirit.


While none of us are perfect or blameless, we actively pursue holiness and purity before Christ, and we regularly confess our brokenness to Him, allowing Him to transform our areas of brokenness. If you find yourself engaged in habitual patterns of pride, greed, hatred, sexual immorality, addictive behaviour, irresponsible debt or unwholesome language, we are here to provide any helpful support you may need.

2. I will commit myself to faithfully attend the weekly Sunday Celebration service at the Victory Outreach Church to the best of my ability.

Our walk with God is about relationships. The very essence of God - three persons in one - demonstrates this. Through creation God set up humanity to be a community. Through our Sunday Celebration services, members can connect with other believers and God in worship and fellowship.

3. I will commit myself to the building of relationships through participation in Connect Group ministry to the best of my ability.



"And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers." ~ Acts 2:42 ESV



One of the best ways to continue to develop and grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ is to continue in fellowship with other believers. This is not only beneficial to the personal spiritual life of the member, but it is also an encouragement to other believers. Victory Outreach Church offers several opportunities to regularly participate in fellowship with other believers. As members, you will be a model


communicating the importance of these activities by his/her own consistent participation in them.

4. I will endeavour to use my gifts and talents, fulfilling my call within the Victory Outreach Church in at least one are: of service to the best of my ability.

God has gifted each one of us with unique gifts and abilities (Romans 12). We believe that each of us should serve according to our gifts in order to bring our best to build the church. We also believe tha every one of us can get better in our gifts with development, training and coaching.

5. I will commit to supporting the work of the church through giving of time talents and treasures to the best of my ability. 




Finances/life stewardship: The Old Testament teaches the principle of tithing - giving to God the first 10s of everything we have. In the New Testament, we see a shift toward total stewardship of one's life and resources. God expects us to live conscious of the fact that everything we have belongs to Him, including our time and talents and finances. We ar simply stewards/managers of the resources he gives to us while we are on earth. With this in mind, certainly giving and supporting the work of the minitry through the local church is an expectation for members.

We think but do not require giving 10 percent of our income is a great place to start! We requre members to be giving and contributing to the comminity in an impactful way, and we onow that can take different forms including time, talents and treasures.

I understand the requirements and responsibilities of membership at The Victory Outreach Church i hereby commit myself to the Lord Jesus and His Body, the Church. I will strive to live out my membersip in a way that honours Christ so that His Kingdom is advanced. I also understand that if I fail to live up t these commitments, the leaders of the church have a God-given duty to help correct me in love.

beliefs
God

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.


Jesus

We believe In the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, death for our sins, bodily resurrection, ascension unto God, and imminent return in power and glory.

The Bible

The Bible is  the inspired and complete revelation of God’s will concerning man’s salvation through the grace of Jesus.

Baptism

We believe in water baptism as a public declaration that a believer has died with Christ and risen with Him to walk a life of holiness and love.



Salvation

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Saviour. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.

That people are saved solely through faith in God’s grace as displayed in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.


Holy Spirit


In the ministry of the Holy Spirit:

by the inward witness of salvation to the believer.

by daily guidance and the growth of Christ-like character.

by the Baptism in / with the Holy Spirit, an experience distinct from and following the new birth, initially evidenced by speaking with other tongues (Acts 2:1-4, 10:44-46, 11:15, 19:1-6) (Acts 8:21 – “matter” can be translated, “utterance or speech”) and subsequently by the manifestation of spiritual power in public testimony and service.



The Church

The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

 We believe in the unity of all true believers as members of the universal body of Christ regardless of denominational affiliation.

Communion

We believe in the celebration of the Lord’s Supper as a remembrance of Jesus.



Jesus' Return

We believe that Jesus Christ is coming again to gather all His saints unto Himself. Those who have not accepted His redemptive work on their behalf will suffer eternal separation from the Godhead and burn in the lake of fire.


Jesus will reign

Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth. We believe that following His return Jesus Christ will rule and reign for one thousand years on the earth. After this there will be a new heaven and a new earth.
